Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with a minimum of 2 years of experience, Level I/II trauma background, and proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery for a weekend day shift contract position.

Details

  • Work setting is a community hospital Operating Room at a Level II Trauma center
  • Weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 12-hour day shifts (7:00–19:30)
  • 13-week contract
  • Nurse must be able to both scrub and circulate
  • Surgical specialties include Vascular, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, Urology, General Surgery, OMFS, and Podiatry
  • Robotic surgery cases include urologic, orthopedic, neurological, gynecologic, colorectal, gastrointestinal, otolaryngologic, and TORS procedures
  • Epic EMR required
  • No on-call requirement; additional on-call shifts are available on a voluntary basis
  • Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a local rate differential

Requirements

  • Active PA RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS, NIHSS, and Trauma Certification (TNCC or equivalent trauma course certification)
  • Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
  • Level I and Level II Trauma experience required
  • Experience required in: Vascular (open and endovascular), Neuro, Ortho/Spine, Trauma, Urology, General Surgery, OMFS, and Podiatry
  • Proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery, particularly urology, is required
  • Community hospital OR experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years and copies of certifications required for consideration
  • All RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; RTO requests after submission will not be accepted
  • Charge Nurse experience preferred but not required
  • Pulmonary procedure experience (bronchoscopies, EBUS, etc.) is a plus

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating across a wide range of surgical specialties
  • PA fingerprinting is required and results can take up to 2 weeks to process; candidates must attend the earliest available fingerprint appointment
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
