• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,450 - $2,580
• On-Call: Required, approximately 1 shift per week
• Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend shift per month
• Charting System: Cerner preferred

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of operating room RN experience required
• Previous Level I trauma experience required
• General OR and trauma nursing experience required
• Active Illinois RN license in hand or in process at time of application
• BLS certification required
• CNOR certification required
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Must be comfortable working with all service lines except cardiovascular cases
• Must be able to accommodate on-call responsibilities
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• No first-time travelers accepted

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Support a wide range of surgical cases, including general surgery, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, and emergency procedures
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field while following universal protocol and infection control standards
• Assist with case preparation, instrumentation, specimen handling, and patient safety throughout the surgical experience
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to support smooth case flow and excellent patient outcomes
• Respond appropriately to urgent situations, including code response and other emergency events as needed
• Participate in on-call coverage and occasional float support within scope of practice
• Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and strong communication in a fast-paced surgical environment
