Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This position involves a day shift schedule, working four 10-hour days from 0700 to 1630, Monday through Thursday. The role includes on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • Current California RN license.
  • Credentials in area of practice preferred, such as CNOR, PANAC, and AAOPU for outpatient care.
  • Certification in American Heart Association BLS required prior to patient care, with recertification every two years.
  • ACLS certification required for registered nurses in Nursing Supervision, Med/Surg, Emergency Department, Perioperative Services, and ICU within six months of employment, with recertification every two years.
  • PALS certification required for registered nurses in the ER and other units as specified, within six months of employment and recertification every two years.

Physical Demands

This position may entail frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and working with arms at or above shoulder height. It also requires standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions. Registered nurses will frequently assist in transferring patients, which may include the lifting, pulling, or pushing of patients in various situations.

Work Environment

The work environment may involve potential exposure to blood and body fluids. Protective measures must be practiced while engaged in tasks that may involve contact with these fluids. Employees are expected to familiarize themselves with emergency equipment and protocols, including crash carts.

Communication Skills and Confidentiality

Effective communication skills are essential in this role, and adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations is required at all times.

Equipment Used

• Frequent use of: cell phone, computer, telephone/voicemail system, laser printer, monitors, glucometer, IV, PCA and epidural pumps, blanket warmers.
• Occasional use of: photocopier, fax machine.
