Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a minimum of two years of large OR experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Schedule follows Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts starting at 6:30 AM
• No scrubs required
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required

Requirements

• Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
• BLS certification required through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• ADN or ASN required
• Minimum two years of current large OR experience required
• Must be able to scrub
• Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required, on-site training available
• Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular experience a plus

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for an assigned group of surgical patients
• Coordinate care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and standard protocols
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Complete population-specific and procedure-based competency testing per unit standards
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Previous PHS staff must wait one year before being eligible for rehire as a traveler
