Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level I Trauma experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• , operday sh8s hours schedule (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Rotates through Core 3 & 4 specialties including General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Orthopedic, GU, and colorectal Robotics
• Average daily census of 70-80 patients across 21 operating rooms
• On-call requirement of 40-60 hours per 6-week period, which can vary
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals to meet facility needs
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required (candidates with 2+ years and at least 1 year of Level I trauma experience may be considered)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
• Must be well-rounded and current in most OR specialties, excluding CV and Transplant
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred for Colorectal Robotic Surgery
• Cerner charting experience required
• Graduate of a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrub support across a wide range of surgical specialties including General, Plastics, GYN, ENT, Neuro, Ortho, GU, and Colorectal Robotics
• Perform surgical procedures such as hysterectomies, craniotomies, spinal fusions, joint replacements, and robotic colorectal surgeries
• Scrubs provided by facility

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted at a lower pay rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have completed 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must complete a designated break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
