Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room with a minimum of 3 years of circulator experience and proficiency in ophthalmology, pediatric ortho, pediatric general, and pediatric ENT surgeries for a day-shift teaching hospital assignment.

• Operating Room unit in a teaching hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday, 6:15 AM to 2:45 PM
• Requires high proficiency in ophthalmology (adult & pediatric), pediatric orthopedics, pediatric general surgery, and pediatric ENT procedures
• On-call requirements to be discussed during interview
• No call-in shifts required
• Possible assignment to an Emergency Team requiring on-site presence during emergency events

Requirements

• Active RN license, Louisiana or Compact, required in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Minimum 3 years of circulator experience in the Operating Room required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Circulate/Telemetry and Conscious Sedation skills preferred
• Up-to-date NURSYS report required within 4 weeks of consideration
• Two Manager/Supervisor references required prior to starting contract (Charge RNs not accepted)

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation from the facility before returning as a travel employee
• RTO must be documented on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
• Orientation held five days per week and includes required facility training modules
• Responsible for circulating duties during a variety of specialty surgical procedures
• May be required to remain on-site during declared emergency events as part of a designated Emergency Team
