Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma experience for a fast-paced surgical services role requiring circulating skills across multiple specialties.

Details

• Operating Room department (Core 3 & 4) within a short-term acute care hospital
• Handles General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, GU, and Colorectal Robotics cases
• Average daily census of 70-80 patients across 21 operating rooms
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Uses Cerner charting system
• On-call requirement of 40-60 hours per 6 weeks, which can vary
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Circulating duties required; scrub duties preferred

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required, must be in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required (candidates with 2+ years and at least 1 year of Level I trauma experience may be considered)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Well-rounded OR skill set required across most specialties except CV & Transplant
• Skills in gynecologic, plastic, neurologic, general, orthopedic, robotic, urologic, and ENT surgical procedures preferred
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Nursing degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrub support across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, plastics, neuro, ortho, GYN, GU, ENT, and colorectal robotics
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing within Indiana are accepted at a reduced bill rate
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
• All travelers are required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Free parking available on-site
