Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Operating Room – Fortuna, CA 95540

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Fortuna, California

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:30). On-call required 2 days per week, including holidays and weekends. Three 24-hour on-call weekend shifts per month. Assignment duration is 182 days (approximately 6 months).

Highlights:

• Rural hospital setting requiring dual-role expertise in both circulating and recovery
• Work with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Three operating rooms with interdisciplinary support from respiratory services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
• Enhanced winter rate period from October 4, 2026, through February 27, 2027
• 40 hours of paid orientation to support your transition
• Opportunity to work with a variety of surgical procedures including general OR, endoscopy, and ambulatory cases

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted and must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Endoscopy experience is required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Proficiency in general OR procedures, PACU/recovery, ambulatory OR, and pediatric general OR
• Experience with procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, colonoscopy, EGD, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and total joint replacement
• Clean background check required; no exceptions for background findings
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
