Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with prior travel assignment experience and scrub/circulate skills for a teaching hospital setting in California.

Details

• Operating Room unit at a teaching hospital medical center
• 8-hour day shifts with 7:00am or 11:00am start times
• Handles Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS), Craniotomy, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Plastic Surgery, Dental Surgery, and combined Neurosurgery/OHNS procedures
• Performs open and endoscopic surgical cases including free flap reconstructive procedures
• Additional experience with liver and kidney transplant, neuro, spine, and vascular cases
• Uses the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating to other facility locations within a 75+ mile radius may be required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• AHA BLS required
• CNOR and ACLS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
• Previous travel assignment experience required
• Previous charge experience required
• Scrub and circulate experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Epic charting experience required
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, neurology, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, and transplant procedures
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates worked, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submittal and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• Time off is not permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Travel pairs are allowed but generally not placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work together on the same unit
