Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a teaching hospital, requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior travel assignment experience.
Details
- >Operating Room department within an academic teaching hospital setting
- Handles a wide range of complex surgical specialties including OHNS, craniotomy, OMFS, plastics, dental, combined neuro/OHNS, and free flap reconstructive procedures
- Additional case exposure may include vascular, cardiovascular, neurology, transplant, thoracic, urology, gynecology, and robotic surgeries using the Da Vinci Xi system
- Day shift schedule with 5x8-hour shifts starting at either 7:00 AM or 11:00 AM
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Ability to float to other facility locations within the health system as needed
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
- Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
- Previous travel assignment experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Scrub and circulate skills required
- Prior experience in a teaching hospital setting required
- Epic charting experience required
Additional Information
- Perform scrub and circulating duties across a broad range of complex surgical specialties
- May be reassigned to a different unit or facility within a 75+ mile radius during the assignment based on qualifications
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
- Requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager prior to starting; no additional time off requests accepted mid-contract, and time off cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Any previous employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review
- Two professional references from the most recent employer are required for consideration
