Job Description

Emerson Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week contract assignment. The OR RN will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care and work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of surgical procedures.
• Serve as the circulating RN and maintain patient safety throughout procedures.
• Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, consent, and surgical site.
• Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transfer.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to the surgical and anesthesia teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
• Perform and document surgical counts according to established protocols.
• Ensure necessary surgical supplies, equipment, medications, and instruments are available.
• Handle and appropriately label surgical specimens.
• Maintain a safe and controlled operating-room environment.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia staff, surgical technologists, and other OR personnel.

Overtime

• Weekly OT: After 40 hours, based on applicable differential
• Guaranteed: 40 hours/week

Local candidates within the 50-mile radius are eligible, as well as qualified travel nurses.
