Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Operating Room with strong orthopedic experience and prior travel assignment history for a teaching hospital setting.

Details

• Operating Room unit in a general surgery and orthopedic/spine surgical setting
• Day shift schedule, variable 8-hour mids, Monday through Friday
• Call required
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius if job specifications are met
• Uses Hana Table equipment for ortho cases

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• AHA BLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years inpatient OR experience required
• Circulating and scrubbing experience required
• Strong orthopedic background required, including ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, closed/open reduction of fractures, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and total joint replacement
• General surgery experience including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and laparoscopic-assisted procedures
• Endoscopic procedure experience including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required
• Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, or proof of scheduled booster appointment prior to start date
• Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrub and circulate orthopedic and general surgery cases in a teaching hospital OR environment
• Non-billable training modules completed during pre-start and annually, with transcripts recorded via UC Learning
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All requested RTO must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract
• RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
