Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) plays a vital role in the surgical team by providing assistance during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This position requires proficiency in primary spine, orthopedic, and robotic surgeries. Responsibilities include but are not limited to scrubbing and circulating in an acute care setting.

Work Schedule

• Rotating shifts: 5 days a week
• Available shifts: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, or 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Workdays: Monday to Friday
• On-call duty required at least twice per week and every third weekend

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required)
• Completion of an approved didactic RNFA course (Required)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RNFA, including experience in primary spine, orthopedic, and robotic surgeries (Required)
• Annual surgeon review (Required)
• Epic system experience (Required)
• Current RN license in the state of practice (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor (Required)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor (Required)
• Certification as a Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) (Required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor (Preferred)
• Current Professional Liability Insurance (Required)
