Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Orthopedics RN for a night shift assignment at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital, requiring recent MS/Tele experience and BLS certification.

Details

• 46-bed Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Center of Excellence unit specializing in surgical and non-surgical musculoskeletal care
• Patient population includes fractures, degenerative disease, congenital disorders, infections, and joint replacement patients
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required (not every other weekend if noted otherwise)
• Floating required within scope, including to an affiliated nearby hospital
• Uses Epic charting system
• Located within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level II Trauma Center with 569 staffed beds

Requirements

• Active or pending Oregon RN license accepted
• Active BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg or Telemetry required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response/code team activation
• Competency in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience with peripheral line care and management
• Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oxygen tanks
• IV therapy and phlebotomy experience required
• Computerized documentation experience required

• Deliver nursing care to orthopedic and joint replacement patients in a Joint Commission Center of Excellence-certified unit
• Orthopedic-specific experience is not required as facility-provided education is offered upon hire
• Strong interdisciplinary teamwork supports high-quality patient outcomes
• Royal blue scrubs required
