Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Orthopedic/Telemetry unit with a focus on joint replacements, fractures, and related orthopedic diagnoses
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6, with CNA support on the unit
• Monitor telemetry as needed; RNs are not required to independently read telemetry strips
• Collaborate with a Charge Nurse available 24/7 and coordinate with CNAs (3 per shift)
• Utilize respiratory therapy equipment (e.g., CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow) on an as-needed basis
• Float to other units as needed, potentially including 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in West Virginia or a compact state
• BLS certification (required)
• Must have Total Joint Replacement experience — fracture experience alone does not meet this requirement
• Strong orthopedic nursing background required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (fully vaccinated: 2-dose Moderna or Pfizer, or 1-dose J&J); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted promptly for review
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working on a combined orthopedic and telemetry unit
• Familiarity with post-operative joint replacement care protocols
• Comfort floating to similar med-surg or orthopedic units within a large hospital system
