Description

American Traveler is hiring an Outpatient Occupational Therapist with 3+ years of experience for a teaching hospital's hand clinic and adult outpatient rehabilitation setting.

Details

  • OT Outpatient unit within an academic teaching hospital setting
  • Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Focus on adult outpatient and hand clinic caseload
  • Treats conditions including arthritis, hand injuries, nerve injuries, tendon repairs, and upper extremity orthopedic cases
  • Performs modalities and manual therapies including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, paraffin bath, myofascial release, kinesiotaping, and splinting
  • Utilizes Epic EMR system
  • Possibility of floating to other facilities within the health system
  • 26-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Current CA Occupational Therapist license required (license required if applicable)
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience preferred
  • Hand clinic and adult outpatient experience preferred
  • Academic teaching hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) credential preferred
  • AOTA Hand/UE certification preferred
  • PAM (Physical Agent Modalities) certification in CA preferred
  • MS/MA degree preferred
  • Experience with splinting, adaptive equipment, and home exercise program development

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive OT services including evaluation, assessment, plan of care development, reassessment, and discharge planning
  • Deliver patient and family education on home exercise programs and safety/injury prevention
  • Fabricate and apply dynamic, static, and functional splints using materials such as Orthoplast
  • Perform adaptive equipment assessments for adult patients
  • Work within a supportive interdisciplinary team in a large academic medical system
  • First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
  • All requested RTO must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager prior to offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Candidates with prior employment at any University of California medical facility must disclose that employment history for a rehire eligibility review
  • Two professional references from the most recent employer are required for consideration
