Description
American Traveler is hiring an Outpatient Occupational Therapist with 3+ years of experience for a teaching hospital's outpatient OT/hand clinic setting, requiring an active CA OT license.
Details
- Outpatient Occupational Therapy department in a teaching hospital setting
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- 26-week assignment length
- Possibility of floating to other nearby facility locations
- Epic EMR experience required
- Patient population includes adult outpatients with hand, upper extremity, and orthopedic conditions
Requirements
- Current, active CA OT license required (license required if applicable)
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Hand clinic and adult outpatient experience preferred
- CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) credential preferred
- AOTA Hand/UE certification preferred
- MS/MA degree preferred
- PAM (modalities) certification preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive outpatient occupational therapy services including evaluation, assessment, plan of care, and discharge planning
- Treat conditions such as hand injuries, nerve injuries, tendon repairs, arthritis, and soft tissue injuries
- Utilize modalities and manual therapy techniques including edema massage, electrical stimulation, kinesiotaping, myofascial release, paraffin bath, splinting, TENS, and ultrasound
- Fabricate and apply prosthetics/orthotics including dynamic, functional, and static splints
- Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education on safety and injury prevention
- Perform adaptive equipment assessments for adult patients
- RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and no RTO within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Floating may occur to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius at any time during the assignment
- Two references from the most recent employer required for consideration
- Candidates with prior employment at any University of California medical facility or its acquired facilities must disclose this history for a rehire eligibility check
