Job Description & Requirements
Physical Therapist - Outpatient - (PT)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $2415.00 - $2489.00
This full-time outpatient Physical Therapist position is based in Burlingame, California, a highly desirable community on the San Francisco Peninsula. Burlingame offers a rare blend of coastal charm and big-city access, placing you minutes from San Francisco International Airport, roughly halfway between San Francisco and Silicon Valley. The city is known for its tree-lined neighborhoods, excellent public schools, and an inviting, walkable downtown centered around Burlingame Avenue, where you will find local cafes, acclaimed restaurants, boutiques, and everyday conveniences all within a few blocks. Living and working in Burlingame means easy access to the best of the Bay Area. Scenic bayside trails provide relaxing spaces for walking, running, and cycling with views of the water and nearby hills. Weekends can be spent exploring local parks, heading to nearby beaches, or enjoying the cultural, dining, and entertainment options in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and other neighboring communities. With a mild Mediterranean climate, outdoor activities are enjoyable year-round, from waterfront strolls to day trips up the coast or into wine country. The outpatient clinic is part of a respected national therapy organization with a strong clinical reputation and a focus on evidence-based practice, professional development, and patient-centered care. You will join a collaborative team of physical therapists and support staff committed to helping patients return to their highest level of function. The environment is designed to be therapist-friendly, with modern treatment areas, well-maintained equipment, and access to a broad range of tools for therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and functional training. As a Physical Therapist in this setting, you will evaluate and treat a diverse caseload typical of an active Bay Area community. Common conditions include post-operative orthopedic cases, sports-related injuries, overuse syndromes, spinal disorders, and general musculoskeletal pain. You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized plans of care, deliver hands-on treatment, and guide patients through progressive exercise and functional programs. You can expect to collaborate closely with referring physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care. A typical day includes performing new patient evaluations, providing follow-up treatments, documenting in the electronic medical record, and participating in team huddles or case discussions. Patient volumes and scheduling are structured to support quality one-on-one care while meeting outpatient productivity expectations. Depending on clinic size, you may work alongside physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation aides to manage patient flow and support therapeutic activities. The clinic’s schedule is designed to accommodate patient needs while supporting work-life balance. Shifts commonly include daytime hours with the potential for some early evening appointments to serve working professionals, and a standard full-time workweek generally totals around 40 hours. Weekend work, if required, is typically limited and scheduled in advance. Specific hours and schedule patterns can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview process. This position is an excellent choice for a Physical Therapist who wants to grow clinically in a supportive outpatient environment while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of the San Francisco Peninsula. You will have opportunities to refine your orthopedic and sports rehabilitation skills, pursue advanced training through the organization’s educational resources, and be part of a team that values collaboration, professional growth, and high-quality outcomes for every patient.
