Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications with night shift availability and comfort floating to pediatric PACU.

Details

• Fast-paced PACU department supporting all major surgical services across 34 ORs on 2 floors
• Unit provides pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric populations
• First floor includes 6 ORs, 2 cystoscopy suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, and prep/recovery for CT/MRI — with high pediatric volume
• Second floor includes 28 ORs servicing Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab cases
• Special procedures include regional anesthesia and ECT
• Equipment used includes Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Patient ratio: 1:2
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
• 2–3 scheduled weekends per contract
• Floating to pediatric PACU required as needed

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all must be AHA-issued
• PACU or Pre/Post Op experience strongly preferred; Critical Care Post Op background is a plus
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Candidate must be comfortable caring for patients of all ages across pre-op and Phase I and Phase II recovery settings
• In the event of an emergency, staff may be assigned to an Emergency Team and expected to remain on-site until the event passes or serve on the relief team — candidates who are not comfortable with this expectation should not apply

• 13-week contract
