Schedule

Shift: 08:00 - 16:00 with a 30-minute lunch. End times can vary depending on procedures. Call requirements: 6-8 days per month.

Job Description

The PACU Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Post Anesthesia Care Unit patients. This role involves working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical staff, and other personnel while utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and hospital policies and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the safe delivery of care. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education, delegating patient care priorities in line with staff education and experience, and providing direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to Post Anesthesia Care patients.
• Work collaboratively with surgical teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver safe patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately among staff.
• Supervise and guide assigned personnel in delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Prior travel nursing experience is required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS are mandatory.
