Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Specialty Nurse Sacramento, CA. This position involves providing recovery services for OR, Cath Lab, IR, Endoscopy, and Cardiac procedures for inpatients and outpatients. The role requires delivering high-quality postoperative care in a fast-paced clinical environment, supporting patient recovery and safety.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 3x12 day shifts, 0930-2200, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license; Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); 3 years of clinical experience; prior experience in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit; proficiency with Epic charting system; minimum 2 years of experience with patient ratios of 2 in PACU; experience in inpatient settings, phase I PACU, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, reversal agents, ICP monitoring, ventilated patient care, conscious sedation, post-epidural management, general anesthesia, local anesthesia, Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC), nerve blocks, spinal anesthesia, and malignant hyperthermia protocols.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with community hospital settings, LTAC, trauma level I and II units, and travel nursing.
  • Additional Information: The role supports recovery services for OR, Cath Lab, IR, Endoscopy, and Cardiac proceduresboth inpatient and outpatient. The facility has interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The patient population includes adolescents, infants, adults, and geriatrics, with a daily census of 85 and 90 visits per day. Orientation includes 36 hours, with compliance requirements including labs, work history verification, and references.
