Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in Oregon, requiring Epic experience, an active OR RN license, and a minimum of 2 years of critical care or PACU experience.

Details

  • Work in a large 38-bay Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a hospital setting
  • Serves a mixed adult and pediatric patient population, including ambulatory, acute care, and critical care patients
  • Patients arrive from home, the emergency department, and inpatient settings for surgical and procedural prep and recovery
  • Unit operates 24/7, with call utilized to support nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Variable day/evening shifts with the possibility of some nights and/or call; potential start times include 0530, 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, and 1900
  • Shift schedule is 3x12-hour shifts; day shifts run 0530–1730, night shifts run 1900–0730
  • Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
  • Floating to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation

Requirements

  • Active Oregon (OR) RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in adult or pediatric critical care through ICU, high-acuity ED, or PACU required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proof of COVID vaccination required — no exemptions accepted
  • Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; charge RN references are not acceptable
  • Flexibility in scheduling is required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery and procedures, recovering patients from anesthesia, and transitioning patients to inpatient care or discharge
  • Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this facility must provide a reference from the OHSU manager who supervised them
  • Must have been away from this facility for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
  • Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration and may not exceed 2 weeks
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction applies
