Job Summary: The organization is seeking a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) registered nurse in the specified location. This role involves providing post-anesthesia care to patients in a fast-paced, acute setting, ensuring their stability and recovery following surgical procedures. The position requires flexibility with shifts and locations, with an emphasis on teamwork and adherence to clinical standards.

Position: PACU Nurse Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Shift Schedule: Dayshift, 8-hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week.
Start Date: 10/19/2026
End Date: 11/30/2026
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications; a minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience; willingness to float between Bryan and College Station campuses; ability to pass Dysrhythmia (83%) assessment with three attempts.
Experience in acute preoperative settings is preferred but not required.
Must be comfortable with IV starts, EKGs, nerve blocks, and orientable to new skills.
Schedule and Responsibilities: Staff will work 8-hour days with a call requirement, including weekend shifts (one per month). Call response time is 30 minutes. Coverage may involve float between units and campuses as needed.
Additional Information: Small department, charting with MEDITECH and Meditech EMR systems, with shift-specific training. Cancellations allowed up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
