Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract at their facility located in Wausau, Wisconsin. The RN will be responsible for providing post-anesthesia care in a busy PACU unit, managing general, spine, neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, PV, and orthopedic cases, as well as stabilizing ICU patients before transfer. The position involves variable shifts with a focus on patient recovery and stabilization.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Associate Degree or Certificate, 2+ years PACU experience, recent hospital experience, post-cardiac and pediatric recovery experience, Epic charting experience strongly preferred or previous electronic charting experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Shift requirements include variable start times of 0730, 0800, or 0900 with a four-day workweek.
- Weekends are rotated every 5th for on-call duty, with an on-call shift starting at 11am and a 30-minute response time.
- Call back duties involve one night per week for 4 weeks and every 5th weekend, with a minimum 2-hour call back.
- High patient ratio of 1:2, with a total of 14 bays and approximately 35 patients daily.
- Ability to wear scrubs of any color.
- Contract participation includes low census hours with the potential for on-call during unbillable hours.
- During flu season, vaccination policies require mask-wearing, with compliance mandatory.
- Start date is August 17, 2026, at the facility located in Wausau, WI.
