Job Summary: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role involves providing post-operative recovery care in a fast-paced acute care setting. The RN will work primarily during day shifts, safely monitoring patients, managing common cases such as robotic prostatectomy and orthopedic surgeries, and adhering to unit protocols and standards.
Job Details:
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association) certifications; minimum of 2 years of PACU experience; Wisconsin RN license; US resident or eligible to work; location within 80 miles of the facility.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system, knowledge of irregular cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Float: If trained, may go to Post-op or Pre-op departments.
Additional Information:
Bed capacity: 34 beds; primarily Phase 1 recovery with training available for Phase 2.
Nurse to patient ratio: 2:1 in Phase 1.
Common cases include robotic prostatectomy, total knee/hip replacements, robotic hysterectomy, and bariatric procedures.
Unit employs 2-3 certified nursing assistants (CNAs).
ICU patients do not recover in PACU; they are transferred directly to the ICU.
Reading electrocardiograms: should be able to understand irregular rhythms.
Shifts and scheduling: Ability to work 8 or 9-hour shifts.
Call requirements: Some weekday call (approximately once every 2 weeks), weekend call (approximately once every 6 weeks). Call response time: 1 hour.
Scrubs provided; attire should be respectable casual dress to and from work.
Unit orientation: 2-3 shifts.
Clinicians previously employed by this facility must have end dates at least 6 months prior to the submission date.
All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
