Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for an inpatient position at a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience with level 1 trauma and telemetry background.

Details

• Inpatient PACU setting at a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital with 554 staffed beds
• Patient ratio is 1:2 in the PACU
• Pre/Post Cath Lab and Pre/Post IR procedure experience required
• Charting is done in Cerner
• Floating is required to the Holding area within the PACU department, where ratios can be 1:3–5 and patients are comparable to an inpatient PCU assignment
• Schedule requires one weekend shift per month
• On-call is required, with approximately 1–2 overnight call shifts per month on a 4-week schedule
• 48-hour shift blocks (48s)
• Black scrubs required
• No parking fee

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (RQI certifications are not accepted)
• Cerner experience strongly recommended given its use at this facility
• Pre/Post Cath Lab and Pre/Post IR procedure experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, subject to client screening
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO exceeding 7 days requires client approval; all time off requests should be submitted upfront
• COVID vaccination is optional; however, vaccination status must be reported to the facility
• Contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks in length
• Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached a one-year mark at this facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
