Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • PACU unit within a Level II Trauma Center following ASPAN standards
  • Patient population includes pediatric (1yo+), adult, and geriatric patients across same-day surgery, in-patient, and observation cases
  • Surgical case types include vascular, general, orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, neuro/spine, podiatry, ophthalmology, thoracic, trauma, bariatric, ENT, oral, plastics, cardiovascular lab, and interventional radiology
  • Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), 10:30 AM-9:00 PM
  • No weekend requirements
  • No call requirements
  • Floating required, including between sister facilities
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition/management, and medication administration including narcotics and reversal agents
  • Experience with pre/post-operative care, pain assessment and management, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
  • Familiarity with conscious sedation, general, local, MAC, and nerve block anesthesia types

Additional Information

  • Provide pre- and post-operative care including patient assessment, education, medication reconciliation, and discharge instructions
  • Perform cardiac monitoring and 12-lead EKG/ECG as needed
  • Support pre/post cath lab and IR procedures
  • Level II Trauma Center environment with a high acuity, diverse surgical caseload
  • Any scrub color accepted except reddish orange
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility unless applying under local terms
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • One pre-approved RTO request allowed with offer
  • Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
