Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,990–$2,090
• Location: Everett, Washington
• Healthcare Setting: PACU within a Level II Trauma Center
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 4 shifts per week; 10-hour day shifts, 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Unit Environment: 29 PACU bays across two floors with approximately 70 OR, interventional radiology, and cardiovascular lab cases per day
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:2
• Weekend Coverage: Approximately once every 3 to 4 weeks
• Call: One primary call shift and one secondary call shift during a four-week schedule period
• Charting: Epic
• Floating: May be required between nearby affiliated facilities

PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be in hand when applicable
• At least 1 year of recent PACU or comparable post-anesthesia nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• PALS certification preferred
• Recent experience with Epic or another electronic health record; Epic experience required for this assignment
• Demonstrated competency in Phase I recovery, airway assessment, dysrhythmia recognition, arterial line management, ventilated patient care, emergency medications, reversal agents, nerve blocks, spinal anesthesia, and post-epidural management
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and emergency response skills
• Ability to care for infants age 1 year and older, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

PACU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Phase I post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from general, regional, spinal, and monitored anesthesia care procedures
• Monitor airway, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurologic, and hemodynamic status and promptly identify changes in patient condition
• Care for patients following vascular, general, robotic, orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, neuro/spine, thoracic, cardiovascular, trauma, gastrointestinal, bariatric, ENT, oral, plastic, ophthalmology, podiatry, and interventional procedures
• Support recovery of patients following Watchman procedures, TAVR, electrophysiology cases, and cardiovascular laboratory procedures
• Manage arterial lines, ventilated patients, IV vasopressors, emergency medications, narcotic and opioid analgesics, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and reversal agents
• Perform airway assessment and placement of oral or nasal airways as indicated within scope and unit standards
• Occasionally provide preoperative care for ICU patients
• Evaluate readiness for transfer or discharge and provide clear handoff communication to receiving teams
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, IV therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic while following ASPAN standards and established safety protocols
