• Shift Duration: 10-hour shifts
• Shifts Per Week: 4
• Shift Schedule: Evening shift, approximately 10:30 AM - 9:00 PM
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,990 - $2,090
• Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post / Same Day Surgery
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 30 hours
• Patient Population: Pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Compact license in hand at time of submission, if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of PACU, post-anesthesia care, or pre/post-operative nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic preferred
• Strong skills in pre-op and post-op assessment, discharge education, and pain management
• Ability to manage a high-volume, fast-paced recovery environment
• Comfort caring for patients following a wide range of surgical specialties
• References from recent nursing experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality care for patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU
• Monitor vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and post-operative recovery progress
• Support recovery for a broad surgical population, including orthopedic, general, vascular, neuro/spine, ENT, thoracic, trauma, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, bariatric, and more
• Perform pre-op and post-op assessments and prepare patients for discharge or transfer
• Administer medications and manage conscious sedation, reversal agents, and pain control interventions as appropriate
• Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document patient care accurately in Epic
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
• Maintain a calm, efficient, and compassionate approach in a trauma-capable surgical recovery setting
