PACU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nurse Job – Everett, Washington
Join our healthcare team as a PACU travel nurse in Everett, WA. This 13-week Registered Nurse travel contract offers $1,990–$2,090 in weekly estimated pay, day shifts, and the opportunity to care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in a Level II Trauma Center.
Work with a dynamic Post-Anesthesia Care Unit team supporting approximately 70 operating room, interventional radiology, and cardiovascular laboratory cases each day. Everett offers convenient access to the greater Seattle area, beautiful Puget Sound waterfront views, outdoor recreation, and scenic Cascade foothills.
PACU Travel Nurse Job Details

- Shift: Day shifts, 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Weekend Coverage: Approximately once every 3–4 weeks
- Call: One primary and one secondary call shift during a four-week schedule period
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2
- Unit: 29-bay PACU serving same-day surgeries and inpatient admissions
- Healthcare Setting: Level II Trauma Center
- Charting: Epic electronic health record (EHR)
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Float: May be required between nearby sister facilities
PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent PACU, post-anesthesia, ICU, or closely related critical care nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
- Recent experience with Phase I recovery and post-anesthesia assessment
- Experience caring for pediatric patients age 1 and older, adults, and geriatric patients
- Proficiency with Epic or another electronic health record system
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, airway management, and emergency response skills
- Ability to work weekends, participate in scheduled call, and float as needed
PACU Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Phase I post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from general, regional, spinal, and monitored anesthesia care
- Perform airway assessments and manage oral and nasal airways, ventilated patients, arterial lines, nerve blocks, and post-epidural care
- Recognize and manage dysrhythmias, administer emergency medications, and safely titrate IV vasopressors and other critical medications
- Care for patients recovering from vascular, cardiovascular, thoracic, trauma, orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, robotic, bariatric, gastrointestinal, urologic, gynecologic, ENT, ophthalmologic, and plastic surgery procedures
- Support patients undergoing advanced cardiovascular procedures, including TAVR, Watchman, electrophysiology, and cardiovascular laboratory cases
- Occasionally assist with preoperative preparation of ICU patients
- Monitor recovery progress, manage pain and nausea, administer reversal agents and opioid analgesics, and identify complications requiring escalation
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Deliver patient-centered post-anesthesia nursing care in accordance with ASPAN standards and Level II Trauma Center practices
