Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, PACU – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: 3x12 variable day shifts (shift times range from 0700-1900 to 1100-2300). On-call requirement of 6 shifts per 8-week period, primarily overnight. Nurses must be available to arrive within 30 minutes of being called. Patient ratio 1:2. Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period.

Highlights:

• 13-week travel assignment at a 407-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center
• Work with diverse patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics across multiple surgical specialties
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and lift teams
• 16-bed PACU unit with 40 average daily census and Epic charting system
• On-call sleep rooms available for staff who prefer to stay on-site during call shifts
• Free parking and scrubs provided

Requirements:

• Active Alaska RN license required (pending license acceptable for submission, but license must be in hand for offer)
• Minimum 1 year of PACU nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Phase I PACU experience with skills including arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressors, ventilated patient care, and conscious sedation
• Pediatric PACU experience strongly preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Willingness to float to similar units within scope of practice
• Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
