Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2 years of experience, IN or compact RN license, and ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications.

Details

• Work in the PACU of a hospital environment
• Community hospital setting
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with Mondays off
• On-call required one weekend per month plus an additional 4 shifts per month
• Floating within scope required as needed to meet facility needs
• Open to accommodating block schedules
• EMR system used is Meditech Expanse

Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana state or compact) required in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience strongly preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide pre and post-operative care for a variety of surgical patients including cardiac, ortho, neuro/spine, bariatric, GI, GYN, and ENT cases
• Perform skills such as airway assessment, extubation, IV therapy, central line care, and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Manage patients receiving conscious sedation, general, spinal, and MAC anesthesia
• Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and administer emergency medications as needed
• Provide pre-op education, medication reconciliation, and discharge instructions
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within an 80-mile radius
• Pending state licenses are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must call out at least one week in advance for any requested time off
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
