Job Requirements

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state RN license
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Current AHA ACLS certification
• Current AHA PALS certification
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience preferred, ideally in PACU or perioperative nursing
• Strong assessment, documentation, and patient education skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate post-anesthesia nursing care in the PACU
• Obtain and document initial patient assessments and establish care priorities
• Reassess patients to identify changes, trends, and needs for intervention
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on nursing standards
• Make sound clinical decisions and adjust care plans based on patient response
• Provide patient and family education, including discharge planning support
• Carry out timely interventions and evaluate outcomes of the plan of care
• Perform point-of-care testing and accurately document care provided
• Support floating within surgical services as needed
• Deliver respectful, age-appropriate care in alignment with unit standards
