Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a high-acuity Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring CA RN license, BSN, and 2+ years of high-acuity PACU experience.
Details
- Work in the PACU unit of a Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital
- Recover high-acuity patients including kidney transplant, craniotomy, transaortic valve replacement, spine surgery, ICU, and VATS cases
- Provides Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, and Pre-Post care
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day/evening shifts (3x12 hours), including 0630-1900, 0900-2100, 1000-2200, 1100-2330, or 1300-0130
- Uses Epic charting system
- Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at time of submission
- BSN required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (CCRN and NIHSS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Inpatient, Level I Trauma Center, and high-acuity PACU experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Epic charting experience required
- ICU experience a plus (SICU, CVICU, or Neuro ICU preferred)
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Care for high-acuity surgical and ICU patients recovering from complex procedures including cardiac, neuro, spine, and transplant surgeries
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- All RTO must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager at offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract, and RTO is not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
