Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 3 years of recent PACU experience, ICU experience, and Trauma Level 1 background.

Details

  • Work in a hospital PACU unit covering Pre-Op and Post-Op care
  • Unit includes 40 pre/post beds and 9 overnight bays with 23-hour short stay embedded
  • Patient population includes Cath/EP/TEE Cardioversion, OR procedures, Pre-Post Vascular, Robotic TAVRs, and Pediatric Caths
  • Patient ratios are 2:1 for Phase 1 Care, up to 3-4 for 23-hour stay patients
  • Uses IV pumps, PCAs, epidurals, A-lines, telemetry monitoring, and TEE/CV equipment
  • Utilizes Epic EMR
  • Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend scheduled (Saturday day shift)
  • On-call requirements apply
  • Floating required to Bramhall PACU, IMC, and ICU as needed within a 25-mile float policy

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required upon submission
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Minimum 3 years of recent PACU experience required
  • Prior ICU experience required
  • Trauma Level 1 facility experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Experience with Pre and Post Procedure TEE/CV/Cath/EP OR procedures
  • Skilled in cardiac drips, IV management, telemetry monitoring, Phase 1 care, groin management, and EKGs
  • Ability to read telemetry strips
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • Two professional references required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care for cardiac, vascular, and surgical patients
  • Support Cath/EP/TAVR and robotic procedure recovery within a collaborative perioperative team
  • Complete online education modules and unit-specific orientation as needed
  • Scrub color is flexible but must be fragrance-free
  • Artificial nails and cell phone use are not permitted on the unit
  • Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited while on duty
  • Local candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility will be considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
  • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
  • Requested time off should be minimal, ideally 3-4 days for a 13-week contract, at manager's discretion
