Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with a valid CA RN license and PACU/Phase I & II experience for a 13-week day shift contract.

Details

• Work in the PACU unit of a hospital setting
• Provides pre-op, PACU (Phase I), and endoscopy recovery (Phase 2) care
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 4x8 hour shifts, typical start times between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM
• Varied days off each week with potential rotation based on staffing needs
• May be required to float between Pre-Op, PACU, and Endoscopy recovery (Phase 2)
• Minimal weekend call shifts based on department need

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC only)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide pre-op assessment, PACU recovery, and post-op care for a variety of surgical cases including ortho, ENT, GYN, GI, and vascular procedures
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, IV therapy, and medication administration including vasopressors and reversal agents
• Experience with procedural sedation monitoring and airway management preferred
• Handles discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and pre/post-operative education
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request allowed
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• First-time travelers considered if they have relevant unit experience
