Schedule

On-call requirement includes approximately 3-4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call within an 8-week period. Call requirements may adjust depending on staffing needs. Weeknight call hours are from 9 PM to 7 AM, and weekend call hours from 7 AM to 7 AM.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Preoperative / PACU Registered Nurse to join our community hospital team. The unit features 7 Operating Rooms, specializing in various fields including Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Breast Surgery, General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedics, Vascular, and Endoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient vitals and administer medications efficiently in the preoperative and postoperative phases.
• Provide comprehensive patient education and emotional support.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Conduct assessments and document patient progress.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices within the operating room.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Completion of pharmacology and rhythm interpretation exams for onboarding.
• Healthcare CPR certification.
• Up-to-date vaccinations including MMR, Hepatitis B, and TB test.
• Other certifications as required by the hospital or department.
