Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2 years of PACU or ICU experience and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Details

  • Work in the PACU of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
  • High acuity patient population age 12 and older in a fast-paced environment
  • Receives patients from varied areas post-procedure after sedation, both outpatient and inpatient
  • Unstable ICU patients admitted directly to the unit
  • Performs specialized procedures including TEE, cardioversion, epidural block placement, and lumbar injections
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Day shift, 4x10 hours (5:30am-4:00pm), including Saturdays with variable days off
  • Weekend requirement unless otherwise posted
  • On-call responsibilities required
  • Floating within hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals
  • No block scheduling accommodations unless otherwise specified

Requirements

  • Active WA RN license or compact license required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; CCRN and CPI preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience, or 2 years of ICU experience (CVICU or SICU) from a Level II Trauma facility or larger with willingness to train into PACU
  • Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Relias EKG certification required
  • Strong ICU or PACU experience required for first-time traveler consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide post-anesthesia care to a high acuity surgical patient population
  • Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks or orientation week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • First-time travelers considered with strong ICU or PACU experience
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
  • Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any color accepted
