Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a long-term travel assignment requiring ND or compact RN licensure and on-call availability.

Details

• Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of a hospital setting
• Provide specialized nursing care to patients emerging from anesthesia following surgical or procedural interventions
• Schedule consists of 4x10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, any shift
• On-call required, with PACU call required 6 shifts in 6 weeks
• Floating required to Same Day Surgery as needed

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required, currently in hand
• No prior license hits allowed
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Experience conducting post-anesthesia assessments and monitoring hemodynamic and respiratory status required
• Skilled in airway management and administering medications via IV access

Additional Information

• Monitor airway patency, respiratory status, consciousness level, pain control, and vital signs during recovery
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and manage airway and oxygenation needs
• Provide postoperative education and reassurance to patients and families regarding recovery expectations and discharge instructions
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and postoperative units to coordinate safe and timely patient transfers
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
