Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of PACU experience and ND or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Level 1 Trauma Center with an 18-bay and 14-bay Phase I PACU on two floors sharing the same staff
• Caring for adult and pediatric surgical patients across all specialties, including post-procedure ICU, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and IR patients
• Pediatric caseload averages 5 to 15 kids per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow ASPAN standards of 1:1 or 2:1
• Uses Epic charting, AcuDose medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, ventilators, and BiPap equipment
• Schedule includes 4x10-hour shifts with varied weekend rotation and occasional nights
• Backup call rotation with staff, approximately 2 weeknights per month and up to every 4th weekend
• May float between campuses for Phase I PACU

Requirements

• Active ND RN license or compact license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Acute/hospital experience required; outpatient surgery center experience not accepted
• Large hospital (250+ beds) experience required
• Critical care experience preferred
• Must be able to care for high acuity and pediatric patients

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia care to adult and pediatric surgical patients across multiple specialties
• Basic hospital and unit orientation provided with a buddy RN on the unit
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Candidates residing 60 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible at a reduced local rate
