Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring Level 1 trauma and telemetry experience.

Details

• Inpatient PACU setting within a Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital
• Day shift, 4x12 hours, 9:00-21:30
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Pre/Post Cath Lab and Pre/Post IR procedures required
• Pre-op care required as part of assignment
• Float to PACU Holding area with ratios of 1:3-5, equivalent to inpatient PCU assignment
• Weekend requirement of one per month
• On-call requirement of 1-2 overnight call shifts monthly on a 4-week schedule
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Black scrub color required
• Must work 2 of 3 holiday bundles (Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Day, NYE/NYD)

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required (Level II trauma experience not accepted)
• Telemetry experience required
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Willingness to perform pre-op care required
• RQI certifications not accepted
• Pending license accepted

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and pre/post procedural care for cath lab and IR patients
• Care for limited to no pediatric patients
• First-time travelers considered upon client screening
• No local candidates within 100 miles of the facility
• Non-local driver's license required on file
• RTO greater than 7 days requires approval, with no RTO permitted during the first or last 7 days of the contract
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Facility may call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 6-month system break required after 1 year or 4 consecutive assignments
• 12-month separation required for former staff
