Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of Level I trauma and telemetry experience.

Details

• Inpatient PACU setting within a Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital
• 1:2 patient ratio in PACU
• Day shift, 4x12 hours, 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM
• Required to work 2 out of 3 designated holiday bundles (Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• One weekend shift required per month
• On-call required, 1-2 overnight call shifts per 4-week schedule
• Float to PACU Holding area as needed, with ratios of 1:3-5 for patients equivalent to inpatient PCU acuity
• Cerner charting system used
• Pre/Post Cath lab and Pre/Post IR procedures required
• Pre-op care willingness is required
• No block scheduling accommodations offered

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required (Level II trauma experience not accepted)
• Telemetry experience required
• Skills in respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia recognition/management required
• Ventilator patient care experience preferred
• Phase II Recovery and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• RQI certifications not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide PACU nursing care including pre/post cath lab and pre/post IR procedures
• Limited to no pediatric experience is acceptable for this role
• Charge experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers may be considered upon client screening
• No local candidates within 100 miles of the facility
• Non-local driver's license required on file
• RTO requests over 7 days require approval, and no RTO permitted during the first or last week of the contract
• Black scrubs required
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment
• COVID vaccine optional, but vaccination status reporting is required
• 6-month system break required after 1 year or 4 consecutive assignments
• Former staff must have 12 months of separation before returning
