Job Summary Paramedic (PARAM), Paramedic Grand Marais, Minnesota. The Paramedic provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency medical care and performs non-emergent and emergent medical transport, including inter-facility transport care and patient care support functions. The role supports both emergency medical service operations and designated patient care or operational support activities within a rural Critical Access Hospital environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, 36.0 hours per week minimum.
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Current Minnesota Paramedic licensure in good standing as required by the Minnesota Office of EMS (OEMS); Current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification; Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Provider certification; Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; Completion of FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 courses within the established orientation period; Valid drivers license; Completion of the required certifications/courses within the established orientation period as applicable; and ability to provide clinical care in alignment with EMS clinical care guidelines, Medical Director oversight, physician orders, organizational policies, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous EMS, emergency department, critical access hospital, critical care transport, rescue, or rural healthcare experience; Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC/CEVO) completion preferred or required within the established orientation period; Previous experience with ventilator management, blood product administration, vasoactive medication infusions, ultrasound-guided IV access, video laryngoscopy, and critical care transport.
Responsibilities: Provides ALS emergency medical care; Conducts non-emergent and emergent medical transport and inter-facility transport care; Supports patient care through emergency and operational support functions; Collaborates with EMS personnel, nursing staff, providers, dispatch agencies, first responder organizations, air medical services, facilities personnel, mutual aid partners, and other departments to support safe and efficient patient care delivery; May assist within the Emergency Department, inpatient setting, care center, or other organizational departments consistent with training, competency validation, organizational policy, physician direction, Medical Director authorization, and applicable regulations; Operates under the direction of the Director of EMS and clinical oversight of the EMS Medical Director; May receive operational guidance, onboarding support, mentoring, training assistance, and shift coordination from Lead Paramedics, Field Training Officers (FTOs), or other designated EMS personnel as assigned; Maintains readiness for response, including the ability to respond with a 57 minute route to the ambulance garage as described.
