Travel Pathology Assistant - $3,731 per week in New York City, NY

Job Title: Pathologist Assistant Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Pathology Technician Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 0-3 years related experience in Pathology required License: NYS Licensure as a Pathologist Assistant or equivalent Certifications: Preferred - ASCP Certification, Fellow of the American Association of Pathologists Assistants Must-Have: Bachelor's degree or higher from a Pathologist Assistants program Experience in gross room techniques Experience with gross/microscopic photography Experience in performing gross examination and dissection of specimens Description: This position involves assisting and training Pathology Residents in various techniques. The candidate will obtain and review patient clinical information, including scans, X-rays, and lab results. The role includes performing gross examination and dissection of both large and small specimens. Responsibilities also include preparing tissues for histological processing and specimen accessioning. The candidate will be required to perform specimen fixation and labeling as well. EPIC charting system experience is preferred. Travelers must be away from the previous employer for at least one year and cleared for consideration. All required modules must be completed prior to starting the position.
