Job Details:
• Focus on patient and employee safety including safe patient handling and infection control• Work under general supervision of a Registered Nurse performing routine patient care tasks
• Perform bedside nursing duties and document care provided
• Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of menu management system
• Prepare, assemble, deliver and retrieve patient menus according to prescribed diets
• Assist patients in completing menu selections compliant with prescribed diets
• Update and validate diet changes in the patient menu system
• Create, print and place menu labels as needed
• Print and distribute reports including meal tallies, patient diet lists and nourishment lists
• Follow HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines in accordance with organizational policies
• Perform clerical assignments including faxing, answering phones, filing, and photocopying
• Maintain proper levels of office and menu supplies
• Attend in-services and departmental meetings
• Assist trayline, food service aides or catering as needed
• Minimum two years hospital experience required, with inpatient rehabilitation preferred
• BLS certification required
• Follow facility guidelines for personal appearance, attendance and punctuality
