Job Title: Patient Care Technician Profession: Patient Care Technician Specialty: Patient Care Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of patient care experience License: State or Compact license required at the time of submittal Certifications: BLS preferred; CNA preferred; patient care or EKG and phlebotomy certificate preferred Must-Have: Minimum of 6 months experience in an acute hospital setting; prior experience in performing EKG and phlebotomy procedures required; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted Description: The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care activities. Assist with ambulation and feeding of patients. Monitor and obtain vital signs and record intake and output. Perform EKGs and phlebotomy procedures. Ensure patient mobility and safety through proper techniques and equipment use. Maintain a clean and safe environment by changing linens and cleaning equipment. Provide personal care such as bathing, hygiene, and perineal care. Transport patients safely. Understand and apply isolation precautions. Effectively communicate with interdisciplinary support and healthcare teams. Participate in ongoing education and development to enhance skills. Adhere to infection control standards and hospital policies. Support patients of diverse age groups including adults and geriatrics. Understand and manage abnormal vital signs parameters. Assist with assessments and interventions as directed by the healthcare team.
