Common diagnoses include post-ICU recovery, post-shock, post-stroke, pneumonia, congestive heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, respiratory failure for weaning or unweaning, pending tracheostomy placement, and more. Typical staffing for PCTs is 5. Job duties include taking vitals, A.M./P.M. care, restocking supplies, running errands, performing EKGs, monitoring outputs, bladder scanning, and blood glucose checks. Tele-Monitor Technicians are on duty 24/7 in a centralized monitoring area. Nurses must read and interpret telemetry and communicate changes with the physician for intervention. Scheduling is done 4 weeks in advance. There is a minimum weekend requirement of every other weekend. Employees may be asked to participate in holiday rotation. There is no call or standby requirement. Scrub color is maroon red. Cancellation policy is three shifts per 13 weeks. Charting system used is Allscripts. BSN is not required. Trauma level is 2.
