Travel Patient Care Tech (PCT) - $950 per week in Bronx, NY

Job Title: Patient Care Technician Profession: PCT Specialty: Psychiatric Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year in psychiatric care License: Required Certifications: BLS, PCT Certification, De-escalation Training Must-Have: - Experience with adult patients 18+ - Experience with various psychiatric diagnoses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder - Ability to perform safety checks, room checks, vital signs, and assist with activities of daily living Description: This position involves collaborating with nursing staff to provide patient care in a psychiatric setting. The role includes direct observation of patients and ensuring their safety and well-being through regular rounding. PCTs will engage in tasks such as taking vital signs, performing blood glucose checks, and assisting with phlebotomy if experienced. Physical restraints may be utilized in rare situations, and support staff provides guidance in specific procedures. Participants will work as part of a team, adapting to the needs of the unit and engaging with a diverse patient population. There is a requirement for every other weekend and some holiday work during the year. Travelers may be asked to float to other units as needed, maintaining flexibility in scheduling.
