Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Float night shift position requiring travel experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• PCU Float unit supporting primarily Med Surg
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 84 hours biweekly with a 72 hour guarantee
• Must agree to a 36/48 hour alternating schedule; straight 48 hrs/week may be considered
• Floating required, primarily to support Med Surg
• Weekends required as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved
• Patient ratio of 1:5

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code teams
• Experience with cardiovascular care including pacemakers, cardiac cath, and cardiac surgery patients
• Experience with renal, neurological, and GI patient populations
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and thrombolytic agents
• Experience with insulin protocols and titration
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience

Additional Information

• Care for a diverse patient population including cardiac, telemetry, renal, neurological, and post-surgical patients
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, and a positive result results in automatic cancellation
• Candidates should avoid CBD or other products that could result in a positive drug screen after clearance
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted with application
• Modules are completed during orientation and average 2-3 hours in length
