Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float night position requiring OH or compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of step-down/PCU experience.

Details

• Float pool role covering the Progressive Care Unit and may require floating to another affiliated hospital within a short walking distance
• Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekend shifts may be required
• Cares for cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown patients
• Utilizes EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent step-down/PCU experience required
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial/central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Knowledge of cardiac drip management, insulin protocols, and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required, at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable for the second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide care for telemetry and stepdown patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response coordination
• Perform wound care, isolation precautions, and pre/post neurosurgical or hemodialysis patient management as needed
• Support patients with renal, endocrine, and gastrointestinal needs, including feeding tube management
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
