Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float Pool night shift position requiring telemetry experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Float pool position covering the PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown unit
• May be required to float to another OSU-affiliated hospital within walking distance
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekend shifts may be required
• Cardiac telemetry patient population requiring dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Utilizes EPIC EMR system
• Manages IV starts, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral lines
• Provides respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Administers blood products and manages heparin protocols and cardiac/vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Performs procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Manages wound care/wound vac and pre/post neurosurgery patients
• Provides pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure management

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of step-down/PCU nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and telemetry skills required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor-level leader; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Provide direct patient care within a float pool structure supporting multiple units and potentially multiple OSU-affiliated hospital locations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
